Your hypertext writing is wrong.
"just as" should be "27% less" with "...in Australia at least." added to the end. ![]() Not to mention were 20% less likely to have Jesus...again, in Australia at least.

I do not know about Australia, however in the USA there is a kinda-sorta 'revival' in the LGBT community when it comes to Christian 'values' and beliefs.
There are a lot of Closet Christians who are LGBT. They struggle with balancing the Doctrine with the bible, and struggle with the whole 'If God hates gays why did he make me this way?' What is distressing is the number of LGBT who slam other LGBT for having a Faith in Christ and God. If you say 'I'm a Gay Christian.' you are more likely to be slammed hard and often for your beliefs by other members of the LGBT community than you are by extreme-right wing theists. There is a general lumping together of all Christians under this stereotype of homophobic-extremist-hater by the LGBT community. I have seen it often here on Gayspeak and I refrain from replying in order to prevent 'infighting'. I suspect that many LGBT who grew up in a 'christian' home would stick with Christianity as a Path to the Divine if other LGBT would be more accepting. Many denominations are not only merely tolerant of LGBT but are life affirming and accept LGBT as 'normal' and potentially spiritually healthy. Since the 1980's I have seen a lot of change in Christianity and the many churches. Back when I left seminary and was being a minister there was far less acceptance and tolerance of LGBT. Today churches all but throw open the doors when an LGBT walks down the street, not so much as to convert them to a straight, but in real, loving acceptance of the individual beyond their sexual orientation. The list of Gay Affirming Churches is pretty large: [Only registered members can see links. ] We find on that list Anglican/Episcopal, Ecumenical Catholic, United Methodist, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Quaker, Presbyterian, Baptist and many others. Granted in many cases these are individual churches not the whole denomination, such as the Roman Catholic Our Lady of Grace (Castro Valley California), however it is from individual parishes/churches that the out growth of change in the fundamental denomination takes place. Christianity in general has changed a lot during the past 2 centuries. There was a time when Christianity didn't accept blacks, interracial marriage or the ability of women to be 'equal' to men. We have seen in recent history profound changes and acceptance of 'minorities' in churches, we can only expect to see more as acceptance of LGBT grows in the secular world.

I don't understand the point of this thread, sorry.
Australia has a vastly different view on religion to America, when it comes to religion we hold our cards very close to our chest. We are not a God fearing nation as we see the USA being. They are interesting statistics, but to put into perspective, I believe there are a lot of Australians that believe in 'A' God but don't affiliate or associate with any religion or church, but the figures are skewed because Australians are more likely to be 'Oh! Whatever' about religion in general, but at the same time hold a deity quietly in high esteem
