Default Gifts for Boyfriend

I'd like to give my boyfriend just something nice. But I can't really get him just flowers like a guy would get a girl-- Would most guys want a bouquet of flowers? So this leaves for a lot of creativity, which will be fun. What are some suggestions?

Maybe his favorite cologne...or your favorite one?

When my guy and I were officially dating, for Valentines Day, I made him a custom jacket with the bunny I'm using as an avatar.
But there's a lot more you can do!
Mix CD's of music that makes you think of him
A big box or basket of all his favorite foods (I did this when G was in the hospital. I included a SUPER soft blanket since hospitals are cold and freak him out)
Something personal (DO IT if you LOVE HIM! I gave G my stuffed Skelanimal bunny I called Foo. He's called me his Bunny since.)

Essentially dig into your heart and your head and base things around his favorites.

Flowers would be very nice; The question is how much can you spend? Does he have any particular hobbies, favourite music groups or singers? Favourite cartoons? Does he practise any particular sport? If you like watching him in skimpy underwear, get him some underpants or a speedo?
It really depends how much you can afford. The secret really lies in listening carefully to what he says. When he says he likes this or that, or how he wishes he had this or that. It might give you some good ideas. If ideas fail, a gift token can be good too. He can get whatever he wants and the two of you can go shopping for it together?
