Default Silent movies

Does anyone here like silent movies? They're not really my thing, but I just watched over 10 minutes of The Bell Boy (1918) and I pretty much like it so far. It's free and you can watch it here: [Only registered members can see links. ] It stars Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle and Buster Keaton.

One of the first silent movies I watched was The Gold Rush (1925) starring Charlie Chaplin. I watched this in a literature/movie course at this community college I attended from 2002-2005.

Watching silent films with a live musical accompaniment is becoming popular again. I've just received notice that the Philharmonia Orchestra is going to be playing the music to accompany The Gold Rush at the South Bank in London next week. £45 would be the most I've ever paid to see a film. I may have to give this one a miss!

The only silent movie i have ever seen is Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

If Gibson is God, Lang would be whatever per-dates the god concept.

That was going to be a movie that my friend and I were going to watch on Netflix one day. But we didn't watch until he read it was a silent movie. We ended up watching [Only registered members can see links. ] . I gave it an 8/10.

I have Netflix now and I might watch Metropolis someday by myself. It seems really awesome.

I'll have to check that one out. If it's on Netflix or for free on IMDb, most definitely.
