My favorite album of all time...Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark...I relate to all the songs on the album but especially this one...People's Parties.
All the people at this party They've got a lot of style They've got stamps of many countries They've got passport smiles Some are friendly Some are cutting Some are watching it from the wings Some are standing in the centre Giving to get something Photo beauty gets attention Then her eye paint's running down She's got a rose in her teeth And a lampshade crown One minute she's so happy Then she's crying on someone's knee Saying laughing and crying You know it's the same release I told you when I met you [ From: [Only registered members can see links. ] ] I was crazy Cry for us all beauty Cry for eddie in the corner Thinking he's nobody And jack behind his joker And stone-cold grace behind her fan And me in my frightened silence Thinking I don't understand I feel like I'm sleeping Can you wake me You seem to have a broader sensibility I'm just living on nerves and feelings With a weak and a lazy mind And coming to peoples parties Fumbling deaf dumb and blind I wish I had more sense of humor Keeping the sadness at bay Throwing the lightness on these things Laughing it all away Laughing it all away Laughing it all away |

Oh well...since I am on Joni Mitchell and this is my favorite album...my other two favorite songs that I relate to...alot
This one is spooky real for me Court and Spark
Love came to my door With a sleeping roll And a madman's soul He thought for sure I'd seen him Dancing up a river in the dark Looking for a woman To court and spark He was playing on the sidewalk For passing change When something strange happened Glory train passed through him So he buried the coins he made In People's Park And went looking for a woman To court and spark It seemed like he read my mind He saw me mistrusting him And still acting kind He saw how I worried sometimes I worry sometimes "All the guilty people," he said They've all seen the stain- On their daily bread On their christian names I cleared myself I sacrificed my blues And you could complete me I'd complete you His eyes were the color of the sand And the sea And the more he talked to me The more he reached me But I couldn't let go of L.A. City of the fallen angels Help Me ... I lived this one
Help me I think I'm falling In love again When I get that crazy feeling, I know I'm in trouble again I'm in trouble 'Cause you're a rambler and a gambler And a sweet-taIking-ladies man And you love your lovin' But not like you love your freedom Help me I think I'm falling In love too fast It's got me hoping for the future And worrying about the past 'Cause I've seen some hot hot blazes Come down to smoke and ash We love our lovin' But not like we love our freedom Didn't it feel good We were sitting there talking Or lying there not talking Didn't it feel good You dance with the lady With the hole in her stocking Didn't it feel good Didn't it feel good Help me I think I'm falling In love with you Are you going to let me go there by myself That's such a lonely thing to do Both of us flirting around Flirting and flirting Hurting too We love our lovin' But not like we love our freedom |

Godsmacks Sully Erna - The Departed
"The Departed" To think, beyond what you could think And feel, beyond what you can feel To see, beyond what can be seen And be beyond what we believe I know you know something So many miles and miles away In separation we come together It never ends change has just begun Believing as we release the departed. To know what no one else could know Away, into the unexplained Redeem our soul into my body. To think my soul's been damned again and again and again I know you know something So many miles and miles away Why can't we do better As the line between begins to fade In separation we come together It never ends, change has just begun Believing as we release the departed In separation we come together It never ends change has just begun Believing as we release the departed. Trying to be Higher than I am Trying to see Beyond what I can Trying to be Higher than I am Trying to see Beyond what I can In separation we come together It never ends change has just begun Believing as we release the departed In separation we come together It never ends change has just begun Believing as we release the departed As we release the departed As we release the departed As we release the departed

Your mother's eyes look straight through me Whenever we meet Your father swears it'll never be As long as he breaths And how many times have they told you That you're too young How, how I've ached to hold you But you're too young If we don't buy what's right or wrong Then we are sinners We were never two to tag along But we were always winners And how many people, have told you That you're too young And how many jealous hands would love to hold you `Cause you're too young Well you're too young to love me And I'm too old for you At least that's what they tell us It's in their book of rules That you're too young, too young baby you're too young We could try it for a while But they'd get us in the long run They say that you're too young, baby you're too young

A few one-liners that really hit home for me:
"Is it by mistake or design that I feel so alone on a Friday night?" -Lana Del Rey, 'Born To Die' This lyric encapsulates the age of 17 for me, where I would struggle with intense loneliness, but knowing that I was choosing to be alone, because conversation scared me. "You were pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie." -Sarah McLachlan, 'Angel' This lyric, the juxtaposition of images, and the theme, it's very hard-hitting. It even relates to the LDR lyric above. "Forgive me for I did not know, 'cause I was just a boy, and you were so much more than any God could ever plan, more than a woman or a man." -Hedwig & The Angry Inch, 'Wicked Little Town' This speaks entirely for itself I feel. |

Your words are like knives They peel my skin and pierce my soul Your body will burn tonight Though your heart may still remain cold And I will blame myself And I will blame myself For holding on to what I hoped would keep you by my side I will blame myself The Sheets are stained with Memories of your soft kiss Now this is all I have Paper and pen to remember you with And I will blame myself And I will blame myself For holding on to what I hoped would keep you by my side I will blame myself Can I have you |

All the songs from WICKED hits home. I think anyone who has felt that they are a minority can relate to elphaba's lyrics.
But Rihanna's "We found love" music video really hit home. The situation as well as the snippets of the Japanese night life totally made me feel like someone looked inside my brain and made it into a music video. |

"Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over,
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done. But I don't want to live that way, Reading into every word you say. You said that you could let it go And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know."

Written for the late John Lennon. Best thing McCartney's ever done.

Neil Young...Old Man...this song always slayed me...for years now
Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, Twenty four And there's so much more Live alone in a paradise That makes me think of two. Love lost, such a cost, Give me things That don't get lost. Like a coin that won't get tossed Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me The whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes And you can tell that's true. Lullabies, look in your eyes, Run around the same old town. Doesn't mean that much to me To mean that much to you. I've been first and last Look at how the time goes past. But I'm all alone at last. Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me The whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes And you can tell that's true. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. |
