You should've seen her eat a little moth I somehow managed to get for her. She took her little hands and stuffed it in her mouth and I was like, "uh,uh,uh, Use your manners Lily" . She probably won't have to eat for about a day . Her little belly is all fat now .

I was surprised how they had know how many yards up they needed to climb to stay out of the water...

I googled Apple Snails, just to find out that I had them once LOL. But I didn't know they could live on land too *blush* I had them in my aquarium tank when I was little. They surprised me by laying their eggs out of the water, but unfortunately nothig came out of those eggs.

Yeah, for some reason, they just know... .

Yeah, Apple Snails usually lay their eggs on underwater vegetation, although I don't think it's uncommon for them to lay in the dirt as well, since they're amphibious.

They have both a lung and a gill, so they can use either one when needed. If kept in an aquarium, the lid should be secure, because like alot of animals that live in a tank, they can climb up the glass and out the top and you might step on it without noticing. Animals like; Snails,Newts,Frogs,Slugs, Salamanders, Lizards and the like can all walk up the side of a glass wall, so it's best to be careful with them .

Te he . That's only cause she gets on her dock (basking area) and has learned she can push the lid up and squeeze out. She can't climb the walls though.

I've weighed the side of the lid her dock is on, so she can't push it up

One time I heard a big "plunk" and I ran out to see her on the floor and I was like :| , "you little monster" and she gave me the "sorry mom" look again , so I forgave her, but have made sure it doesn't happen again, because if she flips on her back, she will die of organ failure .

She is adorable, and that's probably going to be her full size, for the rest of her life(maximum 15yrs or so in captivity).

I never seem to catch her being active, but she can be quite active if a bug crosses her path . I was stunned when she jumped for that moth .

It's cute how she takes her little hands and stuffs the insect into her mouth . Kinda like how a baby does .

Update

I'm still trying to get her comfortable with touches . Lucky for people in Australia, they get one of the most docile frogs in the world, that actually doesn't mind being held; White's Tree Frog (Green Tree Frog known by some) (Litoria Caerula).

Litoria Ewingii (like Lily), have different temperaments, and Lily seems to have a calm but wary temperament :P .

These frogs are native to Victoria in Australia, as are most tree frogs, so Lucky Mum and Dfiant (& RockerBlocks & Wombat ) .

I've just discovered Lily is not techincally Litoria Ewingii , but a different species, though similar, named; Eleutherodactylus johnstonei , a species found in tropical locations .

As well as the very close cousin ; Eleutherodactylus gossei , which is found here and Jamaica .

. Just alittle discovery on my part. Litoria Ewingii is native to Austalia(importation is thought to be the reason why they are found here) and New Zealand. Eleutherodactylus johnstonei is similar, but is found here(and a few other islands).

i am a bit uneasy with frogs but i wouldnt hurt em i know they do scream loud lol like a girl
