Not another Asian thread.

Alright,

Before I signed up to become member here, I read a few of the posts and there was a bunch of posts about Asians. Some of them were asking about their attractiveness, some were about if other guys of other races would consider dating an Asian guy.

Well, okay. I'm Asian [Filipino]. And as an Asian dude I've noticed that every time I hang out with my other gay [non-Asian] friends and we go out to a bar or club I always tend to be the guy sitting in the corner nursing my drink while all of them are off somewhere doing who knows what. It's probably cause I'm lame, not cause of me being Asian, lol <__<

I've also noticed that a lot of Classified Ads both online and in paper [for both straight and gay people] that a lot of people aren't looking or don't want to date an Asian person.

I don't get it. Is because we climb coconut tree's, eat rice and put soy sauce on everything? Lol

I'm not bitter at all, I've just noticed it recently and well it never really affected of phased me at all, it's just something that I've been noticing for some time now in the 'Gay Community'.

As they say, "No Fems, fats, or Asian.." Lame..

I know how u feel, man. Maybe they think asian is smart but not good looking like other races.

I personally think Asian boys are adorable! (Not all of them obviously, but that goes for any ethnicity really).

I think some Asians are good looking, but it's hard to find Asian guys like that. I'm Asian as well. Plus, at that point you are deciding on their looks rather than their personalities. I think one reason could be that we seem more up-tight and hard to talk to?

Honestly in Australia, I have never heard of that issue being a problem here.
I know that a lot of Australian men go partying in the Philippines.

If anything , the Asian community here in Australia are known to frown on a mixed relationship.
Not the other way around.
Something to do with culture I guess.

Long ago, back when I was in the community/scene the most repeated 'truism' (stereotype) about Asian is that they are pushy and all looking for white boys.

I don't know if this stereotype still persists or not. And I think you already are aware of the other not so nice stereotypes.

Racism does exist inside the LGBT community, while a lot of it has been shoved underground, it still exists. I was shocked to hear what some of my acquaintances had to say at a private party about some people based on skin color. Shocked because as the most hated minority one would think we would have a bit more compassion about differences.

But apparently all of those years of being hated didn't learn some of us empathy and compassion.

Through the years I have watched racists that I knew play nice and act civil and polite, until the person they hated walked out then they would let their true colors shine through.

This and other similar behaviors is why I don't like being in the 'scene'. Those people just ain't nice folk.

I have a Filipino friend, and boy is he attractive! But then there are some Filipinos I would not touch! It's all about the individual for me, looks wise and personality.

I'm not part of my local gay community either. I mean I go to a gay club once and a while, but no one really talks to me there aside from the friends I went there with.

It seems that I don't really have anything in common with other gay guys other than the fact that I like guys. For a community that screams of being all inclusive sometimes the vibe I get is quite the opposite.

As for the stereotypes you've mentioned. I can say the same about other guys of other races about being pushy and pushing themselves to guys, I don't get when an Asian guy does it, it all of a sudden becomes our stereotype..

...although you are right about the 'looking for white boys' bit, lol..!

Heres the brunt truth; White guys with any muscle that is visible are typically jackasses (Not all just the ones that are online and cruising for sex). They're in that young stage where they're attractive as fuck, have the sex drive of a horse, and aren't looking for commitment. I think the whole no Asians thing is more a trend to be honest. I really doubt all these guys don't like someone just because of their skin color sexually. I think they think that no Asian can be as muscley as them and will forever be a twig. That and the whole small dick stereotype which shockingly Ive come across and asked people, they believe.

Tldr; White musclehead young gay guys are whores and are just following a trend. I'm pretty certain that at some point it was no blacks as well. Some may have preferences and Ive come across some guys who just aren't attracted to guys like that I can understand, but there's just too many white gay guys who put no Asians thats its just kinda WTFish and I honeslty believe more of a omg if I dont put this up I won't be cool!

My own thing: I love all people, but to be honest, I'm not too attracted to black men. There have been a few, but I ain't gonna put in my profile No blacks! That'd just be downright rude, offensive, and kinda insensitive. Which is also kinda why I don't get a good impression of anyone on dating sites who has anything like that in their profile. Shows me they're not open-minded enough to the point where they'd consider dating someone of a skin color they don't like just to see if they connect.

Rant over sorry about the long ass post, but this needs to be said and repeated to people.

I have my preference as well, but I'm open to the idea of meeting the 'right' guy whatever race or ethnicity they may be.

I'm just annoyed at the fact that most non-coloured guys think once they hear Asian is automatically someone skinny, straight hair etc etc.. but Asian/People from Asia come in different shapes, colours, and packages [great I make it sound like we're Tamagotchi's now, lol].

I'm with VagabondKitten--Asian boys are adorable! And Filipinos--doubly so, hehe! Of course, personality counts for a lot, too. We all have different preferences.
