The govts of the world know this term, It means the excess population, which is used to fight wars and die so the balance remains. When I was in nam I read a message abut he penagon which basically said the number of acceptable causualties inany operation, I semt them an email asking if I died was that an acceptable causualty? Never got a reply but pretty sure I was put on a list, Jim

all kinds of cannon fodder; if i am on the bike ill let a couple of cars ahead of me on the freeway that i know will go a little faster than i need to and then i back off.

You reminded me of poets who wrote about this before, during and since WW1.

You also reminded me of this ... even if it doesn't translate so well in 2011, but you will know the original, Jim, and I'm sure you are on a list somewhere!
