The mention of Wal-Mart was prima facie a reference to the underclass. And most of these hackneyed sneers are about the obese, as seen in far more than four examples.
But it's really not about just fat people. It's about feeling good about looking down on the majority of people.
It's not hard to see a disdain for the common people, as that is who shops at Wal-Mart, the majority of the population. Nice work there.
