Anal fissures: my personal experience + useful tip
#1
Here's a subject that most gay men don't like to talk about: anal fissures.

An anal fissure is a tear in the lining of the lower rectum (anus) that causes pain during bowel movements. It is extremely common and easily treatable.

I stress the word 'pain'. I recently had an anal fissure following a more energetic sexual encounter and I was never in so much pain. It was so painful I could barely get any sleep.

To make matters worse, I thought I had hemorrhoids and used treatments that turned out to be completely useless. I finally decided to go see a doctor (gastroenterologist) who prescribed me QUADRIDERM and it worked. As always, self medication is a risk.

QUADRIDERM was very effective but I also tried another excellent treatment called BAG BALM. It is an udder ointment that is used to treat all kinds of skin disorders and you can order it on Amazon. Everytime my ass is itchy or irritated I wash it carefully and then apply BAG BALM and it's wonderful! Smile

Hope you find this helpful. Smile

Bag Balm is widely available in US department stores, as well.

I'd agree, anal fissures are practically taboo in the our community.

Rough sex or huge cock can bring them on.... lube always helps to diminish or even prevent the damage in the first place.

Constipation can also create them... for that take a laxative for immediate relief, and drink tons of water and improve your dietary intake for the long term.

There's a solution for everything! Wink

Subject title is misleading. The last thing you need when you have an anal fissure is a tip.

*Phew* That felt good.

I had a chronic anal fissure. Surprisingly mine never came from anal sex it was mostly constipation I suppose but I had it for years from my teens. It would be better and heal up for a bit but then after like 2-3 months of doing good I'd have a bad bowel movement and it would break open again and bleed like crazy. The only way I got it resolved was going to a specialist and having surgery. I haven't had an issue since. This is my experience and I want to emphasize that I had a chronic fissure which is different from a regular fissure because a regular fissure is very treatable and usually goes away. Chronic is when it never fully heals properly and can keep breaking open.

Ahahah... taboos aren't good but I wish I could ignore all potential rectal problems that exist. They scare me :c

Eugh from the end of 2011 to about february the next year I was sooo constipated, and I started going crazy from it. :S Then during that period I was having a new year's dinner with extended family in Shanghai, and guess what.

Yup you guessed it, my aunty decided to pull out the old photographs of my cousin's chronic rectal prolapse.

She made us look at and told us stories about how everytime her son sneezed, he would have to go into the bathroom and shove his pootube back up into his bumhole. The prolapse itself looked like a tiny little deformed foetus trying to come out but not quite able.

To make matters worse, my uncle had a night of diarrhoea from hell, he went to the bathroom 15 times and the next morning he woke up with haemorrhoids and told us about the awful injections he had to get. He said it was like his anus was on fire ALL THE TIME.

So basically, I didn't poo for like a month and a half (out of fear of course) and it felt like my bum was going to explode.

It cleared up by June though.

Okay, who's telling the next story?

._.

Wow, well I'd say a prolapse is a different issue, but I guess it's relevant in essence to anal complications.

I don't know too much about them other than on porn sites, where they seem to be some sort of fucked up fetish, mostly in the subculture of fisting and freakishly large toy insertions.
