Any Italian speaking gayspeak members who could assist?
#1
Hello guys,

Basically I am in the process of writing a presentation about myself, friends family and the activities I do for my Italian option at university. I've done quite well at Italian always getting the top of the class in my assessments and I work really hard at it. Well I'm a nervous person and delivering this presentation (which is 3 minutes long might be the death of me) because it is also recorded. I was perhaps wondering if a kind gay speaking member who happens to speak Italian or has covered it in some depth may assist me so I don't make a complete fool of myself. This would maybe involve giving me some grammar pointers to see if what I have wrote is ok. Even if it's just talking about a few grammar pointers I would really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Its an oral presentation PA, I have half a page so far. This is what I have written;

L’anno scorso ho visto Alexandra Burke a Newcastle.

I think Penny is a bitch, so it ought to be ''è molto affettuosa'', surely, I think a 'che' is missing before si chiama... che si chiama Penny.
I believe you need a 'd' on 'e' before a vowel: ed italiano, ad universitá (not sure the rule applies for 'a' before a vowel but it does for 'e')

genre doesn't look like Italian to me: maybe use 'tipi', 'sorti' 'generi'? di ogni tipi

Thanks PA I was tempted to say "cagna" for a female dog but I was unsure whether it was a derogatory name for a woman or the actual term for a dog, I didn't want to embarrass myself. Lol

Believe it's the word for bitch the dog, not bitch the lousy woman...

I'm so glad, :-) I didn't want to embarrass myself, I was speaking in French once at a dinner table and for I'm full I said "je suis plein" and apparently it means I'm pregnant, well that would have been a first. Lol

Just saw this, I think this has avoided any potential embarrassment during my exam. Lol
