Now that you mention it, James Ballard's Crash is definitely morbid. I read it many years ago and I remember I had to put it down because it was so disturbing.

It's been many years since I read it and probably in a bad translation but "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is pretty dark.
