But does it, @Anoxcu? Though I agree with the idea of a formal complaint on principle, that same complaint can often set off the institutional response that is equivalent to an individual covering one's ass. The personnel department or an insecure manager can often be the best place to quash any meaningful recourse at all.

I am not advocating violence, but direct, firm and mannerly confrontation, especially in the presence of an honest witness can be very powerful.

And by the way, thank you for your comment. It helped me to sort out my own thoughts.
