The drag queen, that is.

Which famous drag queen are you? Take the quiz.

HaHa......Conchita Wurst... a beard and a dress..PERFECT!

Divine was so....ahem...different...out of drag. He still had a strong presence but I think he was uncomfortable with it when he wasn't in drag...he was kinda shy almost...

I have met John Waters, but never met Divine. My friend was a very good friend of Divine and spoke to him often, including the day before Divine died. There are a lot of stars that seem very outgoing from their presence while performing, but are very different in real life and Divine was one of those. He was supposedly only was in drag while in front of a camera or on stage and did not live life as a female and was very sensitive about suggestions he was a cross dresser or transsexual which was more about the person, not the job they held (transgender was not really used in his day). I imagine he would have been happier to have had the headlines read "Harris Glenn Milstead Dies" instead of what they were- "Divine Dies."

The same thing happened when Sarah Colley died. The media pretty much only reported it as the death of Minnie Pearl, her beloved creation of satire. That is akin to reporting the death of Mortimer Snerd or Charlie McCarthy instead of the death of Edgar Bergen.

And, the fact that I know either of those tidbits is a sign that some questions on that quiz ONLY had choices I didn't recognize, so I had no representation in the skew. Nashville is burning.

I'm certain I'd be Dame Edna Everage, who really is my role model for lampoons, as I'm not a drag queen inside, but a humorist and satirist.

Good thread though.

I could only answer the first question. The rest I had absolutely no idea what or who they were so I just clicked at random and it came up with the answer that I am Divine.
