Losing Touch

We were once
Stuck like glue.
We were in love,
Well, I loved you.

I gave so much,
Yet you only took.
You started to seem
Like some kind of crook.

I started to hate,
Love didn't work.
Then it was me
That felt like a jerk.

You forced us apart,
And made me cry.
I was lost,
I wanted to die.

You acted like
It was my fault.
You were immature,
Not adult.

I miss the boy
I used to adore
His love was rich
Now I am poor.

It's all a stage,
The world today.
Its actors improvise
The lines they say.
Lines can be learnt,
But rarely work,
Life can't be scripted,
You have to be gifted.
Improvisation can be planned,
Rough as it is, it's less of a sham.
But then lines are missed,
And people get pissed.
They get Angry,
They get sad.

In earnest what must be done
Is taking the magesty of a tragedy,
And turn the magesty
Into a rom-com.

You're A Vampire

We've been friends now
For so long.
Over time we've changed,
Now something seems wrong.

You take, take, take,
But never give,
Then I'm left standing,
Like a div.

You've bitten deep into my soul,
I can't see the point where you'll let go.

You take it all,
My energy and life.
I need to run
From your plight.

You force your selfish
Ideas on me.
I have to find a way
To be set free.

Where you bit me there is holes,
But at least I made you get lost and let go.

When I died,
No, faded away,
There was nothng
You could say.

I could say
It was your fault.
You lied to me,
You were false.

It was you
That brought me down.
You killed our love
By sleeping around.

What's worse is
Now I'm dead,
Not cold yet
And your in bed,
Another man,
Another lover,
Was he, is he good?
How many others?

Immortal

How long have I lived?
Well, not so much lived.
Although my life goes on
It's hardly a life at all.
More so a half-life.
A shadow of my self.
A souless, hateful creature.
My skin is cold,
My eyes are blackened,
I'm almost dead,
Yet I'm stuck.
I'm on the edge, leaning,
Wanting to fall.
Nothing.
No amount of willing or force
Can end this ever-flowing course.
I am simply a walking corpse.

The Limelight

I'm backstage now,
I'm rather bored.
Show's in hours,
But I love the allure.

The brightlights,
Stagefright,
Must get the lines right.

I love performing,
I've never found
Anything more
I like being around.

Spotlights shine,
The moment's mine
Moments like this are hard to find.

The time has come,
My lines, my speech,
I'm here undone,
It's my final time to preech.

And then I'm done,
Now I'm finished,
Until next time
I am diminished.

Love, Unrequited. (Part 1)

A best friend or a lover,
You have to choose,
There's no getting both
Whatever your views.
You have to separate the two,
You have to define, you have to review.

You chose lover, level two,
You love him, yes?
But does he love you?
With that you're not blessed.
You must determine and conclude,
You can't let all of this be just a guess.

As of some time in the recent past, when Facebook decided to consume my life, I ended up writing poems on facebook, but forgetting to copy them here. Thus I am now back-dated with poems and cannot really be bothered to move them all. Sorry... I can provide my facebook name, thus be located on the infernal, yet oh so enveloping site. Search for Roydon Lee Janes and I'm pretty sure I'm the only person there. xxx Thank you all for your continued support.

Cancer

The light of my life,
The bane of my existance.
You were always my fight,
I could put up no resistance.

I loved you.
You 'loved' me.
You made jokes,
You crushed me.

We talked, we walked,
We visited the park.
We spent time together,
Why couldn't you see the spark.

You ended it today,
I have one thing to say:
I'm going to be okay,
It's better of this way.
