#1
Any men on that have a wildly increased sex drive when taking ADHD meds (stimulants)? Wanting to chat with similar men. Thx

I was a private tutor of a kid with ADHD. When he took the meds, he was just calm and concentrated on stuff easier. It seems weird the meds would increase sex drive as people with ADHD are already active enough lol. Where did you hear about that? Would like to know more.

Is it possible the meds make them focus on sex easier haha?

I'm afraid I have no idea what these meds do to one's libido and sex drive. By helping them to concentrate, as MHJG has said, maybe those who take them can be more focused on things pertaining to sex and sexual release? Is that your own experience, Sdrf2017 ?

Many medications that play around in the brain (just to simplify) can cause paradoxical side effects...

Personally, I don't like the idea of drugging up developing kids and teens because we throw a label and a disorder on them. Not saying those don't exist but there are studies that show that the long term use of those drugs cause more harm than it is worth... That's just my, non-professional, opinion. I think there needs to be better options. I mean after all we have kids that are hyped up on sugar and caffeine, no wonder they can't concentrate or relax, funny the doctors, or at least in my experience, don't seem to ask those questions about diet or anything other than symptoms. Got a symptom? I got a pill!

OK, I'll get off my soap box.

Absolutely right! Things like "E" numbers and certain preservatives. Sometimes parents give children high sugar containing breakfast cereals in sugar (lactose) rich milk, send them off to school, they're high as a kite for a while then crash! "They must have a behavioural problem", then like you say, they can end up on meds when it's diet related. Of course there are developmental difficulties like Autism, but sometimes problems can be simpler to explain. Then these poor kids end up with a negative label.

I worked in psychological services for a few years and adults would come with childhood diagnoses, my clinical lead would always say to me "let's just see how it impacts them now, let's not just go on childhood diagnoses".

Again, just my own experiences/ views etc.

Zen One thing I am going to look for is a D.O. for my regular doctor. Not sure how that will go but right now I have been seeing a P.A (Physician Assistant) and basically she's done nothing but push pills at me and refer me to a specialist who performed procedures that ended up costing $14k for nothing... So yeah I'm a little hell bent on doctors. Are they needed? Absolutely, but know when you're seeing a pill pushing quack.

But yeah I think these days parents want to blame everything but themselves....

Spent most of my adolescence bombed on antihistamines which at that time were also downers. Didn't even know I was slogging around in a fog, just that my eyes didn't itch and my nose didn't run. I was "tired" all the ime. Nowhere near as severe a problem as some of the ADHD drugs for kids but it did have its effects.

I know this came up in the thread on Trump and Obama care, in that thread I raised how lucky we are in the UK to have the NHS. That's a crazy amount of money to have to find, or hope insurance will cover- I feel for you. I know what you mean though, I was recently given a course of antibiotics which I though that I did not need. Sure enough the next doctor I saw verified that I didn't, which means that if I do need them in future they will be less effective!

Yeah it's kind of like Willy Wonka and the oompa loompas, always highlighting that the kids problems, are likely to be the cause of the parents!! Greed, too much tv etc...
