My dad looking at porn
#1
I was taking a two hour nap and when I got up, my dad was on the computer. At that time, he wasn't watching porn. Anyway, when I finally got on YouTube, I saw something in my history that wasn't there before. I went to my history and it was all straight porn (the worst it could get on YouTube). The last video I really watched was one from "The Book of Mormon." The rest had to have been done by him in that time range. Should I confront him?

Why would you confront him? It's just porn.

Why? he's an adult, he can view porn if he chooses. I see no reason to make an issue out of it.

No ... I would not confront him... It´s his think ... My opinion is that everyone has his private times... that goes for kids AND for fathers :-)

Maybe I would tell him some day that he better use a own account....

Yeah, I know we all watch it. It was just weird to see that on my history. It's not like I'd tell my mum or anything.

Nobody wants to think of their parents being sexually active, but they are, and porn naturally can play a role in that.

Nothing needs to be said because it is a given that a male+computer=porn.

As long as it's just YT then it's probably not a big deal...of course it will mess up the market research Google does on you if he's using your account, but who cares about them.

BUT many of these YT porn samples give links to the harder stuff, and if he's clicking on those (you should be able to tell from most computers if he's had or not through more ways than one just by looking at the said link, like it will be a different color or if you put the mouse on it without clicking the target address will show up at the bottom of the screen and you can type in a little to see if the computer "remembers" it) then it can be more serious...some porn sites can have very nasty things for the computers that access them, and that would be cause for concern (my computer has a lock on it so that the kids wouldn't normally be able to access it, and that's just one of the reasons why). What's really bad is that at least a few can't help themselves, like one guy I heard about melted his own computer on bad porn sites and then while that computer was being repaired used his daughter's computer and melted that one, too.

Also be aware that if he cleans the cache next time that he'll delete your own history as well (hope you remember all your passwords...)

Or show him how to use "Incognito/InPrivate" browsing features.

Why would you confront him?

Although if it happens persistantly and it's on your own personal computer account I would probably get annoyed at some point.
