Atlas Obscura is a a trip! Full of odd and interesting things.
I just read the article about salt rising bread. Haven't seen it around for ages, but I love the stuff and NO it does not smell like feet! It does make absolutely wonderful toast though. Nothing better when well toasted and paired with good strawberry preserves. Read another Atlas Obscura article yesterday about a man who made a scale model of the world map in a lake in Denmark--all of stones and eathworks. Really neat to walk across continents in moments!
