Should I be pissed about this?

Wade Wrote:So I spoke again with the student in question today. Turns out, it was he who wrote the note and put my stuff in the hall, not the office lady. I apologized again for what my part and asked that should it happen again, to please not take my stuff (or anyone's) out of the room. He understood and apologized for his part (he also mumbled something about being sleep deprived).

... Then we started making out. Here's lookin' at you ObW!

Thank you everyone for your input and perspective. I will be sure to be more considerate in the future.

Wow I wrote my "How to be a drama queen for dummies" response before reading the whole thread, whoops...

The guy is right about it being inconsiderate, but it's just as inconsiderate to throw your stuff out in the hall... So you both apologized, which is good. Hopefully that doesn't happen again 1blue1

Personally I think the office are in the wrong here, and you should be reporting their actions to someone higher up in the food chain.

It sounds like everything has been resolved except these issues.
1. How did they even know that you weren't in the room.
2. Once it was found out you were not in the room, a timer should have been started (how much time is not important, as long as it's consistent).
3. Once the time was up, a school employee should have removed your belongings from the room and put them in a safe place, for you to be able to collect them.

Why they don't already have such a policy is a mystery. It could be that they have never had a theft or a lawsuit, but they are leaving themselves open to it. This should definitely be reported to school administration.

I understand where you're coming from, but that's a lot of hassle. Usually, these situations are avoided altogether by everyone silently agreeing to not be rude... and it's worked fine so far, this particular incident notwithstanding.

@Woollyhats

I appreciate your advice as well, but as a 25 year old man who's taking care of his own education/possessions, I think the whole "I'll tell my parents and they'll fix it" ship has sailed for me.

I feel like an idiot now for thinking you're in highschool until now. I never even looked at your age. I'm just going to walk away from this thread now.

Lol. Don't be embarrassed. Besides, you're not the first one to think I'm a lot younger than I am. You should see what happens when I buy booze and porn.

.... I've actually never bought either, but that's the stock line I've been using for years. When I used to smoke though, I was constantly questioned for having a fake I.D. which I felt gave me free license to act all righteously indignant.... good times.

Woollyhats Wrote:Well that's rude... Definitely go to the office. If they're all like "Shouldn't have left your stuff out there" flip your fucking shit, "THERE ARE THEFTS HAPPENING AT THIS SCHOOL AND YOU JUST THREW MY STUFF ONTO THE FLOOR LIKE TRASH, MY PARENTS ARE GOING TO BE SO HAPPY TO HEAR WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STUFF THEY BOUGHT ME", ask to use the phone, call your parents, have them immediatly come to the school, threaten to sue the school, all the while calling them absolutely out on the fact that they don't have music room SIGN OUT SHEETS FOR STUDENTS WHICH IS THE LOGICAL ANSWER HERE.

Obviously talk to your parents before hand and tell them what happened "My expensive stuff was thrown into the hallway, and people have been having their things stolen lately" should work, and make sure they know they might be coming to the school.

I can basically guarantee this response will prevent this from happening again.

It's over the top for sure, but it'll stop them from treating you like a 3 year old (I'm gathering that's how your school's faculty treats you), and stop it from happening again..

I won't lie, this definitely turned me on a Lil... I like a Lil aggression lolz

Woolly, you've been hanging around my posts too much, you're becoming me! :0
