Sour Cranky???
#1
If anybody's read this or heard this young miss's statement to the top notch hobknobs of Maryland.... this child is a disgrace. She has no idea how lucky she is. I think I'd call her Sour Cranky, the little witch.

Another case of someone speaking out (or being made to speak out) out of turn. Why are her desires relevant to any legislation, or to people equality?
Please, help me undo the stupid, vapid, unthought statement she's made by rebuking her silly arguments.(please click the sound file).
Oh by the way, where was this little missy schooled? Ah yes, at home. Right! Rolleyes
What about children who were not born (not any child's choice obviously) in her little fairy, one dad one mom world? Open your eyes, young biggot.:mad::mad:

Home school isn't to blame here. I'm a proponent of home schooling, and if I were independently wealthy would quit my job and home school my daughters when they get older.

However, I would like to have a talk with her.
Quote:“People have the choice to be gay,
. Yeah, I used to think that. I used to think there was something wrong with me and I could just magically fix it by marrying a woman. Boy, that sure worked out well! Four years of depression, rarely having sex with my "legally married" wife who always felt inadequate and ugly because she couldn't "get me off", and now having to explain to our children why Daddy is different from other Daddies. Yep, no problems there!

It's not a choice. I did not choose to be gay. I went out of my way to try and change it, and failed miserably. Of course, our opponents would just say "I didn't try hard enough". Geez, if only they could see how hard I tried, and how hard other closeted gays try.

What I meant, Cunobelin, is that by being home schooled, this young lady seems to have had little contact with the REAL world... ie a world of diversity, not a fairy tale fantasy world. I approve that her parents should want to keep her from harm, but I do believe they are harming her more by instilling such hate mongering thoughts into her young mind.

Dear Cunobelin, I'm sorry to hear of those awful 4 years of marriage. No, you're not the only one to have gone down that route, precisely, I'm sure, because the wrong message reached your brain in your years of growing up... as it did mine and many other people's.

... and by the way, maybe you have a sound mind??? (re the home schooling).
What I see as wrong in home schooling is that is marginalises some people who don't need to be further marginalised..., but then again, the school system needs a lot more attention and tidying than ought to be necessary.

I see her as a victim of cult-like indoctrination and my scorn is for those adults who told her how good a job she did when she gave almost no reason at all for her opinion (and it itself was just a regurgitation). And there's still hope for her, girls far worse off than her have radically changed once exposed to the world they'd been kept from.

How can you call a society as a whole 'intolerant' when you take your child out of society, home school your own bigotry on to your child and allow your child to make a statement on the society that you have removed her from?

That child needs to be socialised outside of family and the few neighbourhood kids.

It's so sad that it is pathetic.

Pix, I too was appalled by the comments after she'd said her speech. Does sound like proper endoctrination... The problem being that she's not being taught what the laws of the land are, now, is she? She'll have to wait until she's 18 to own (earn????) her right to vote and until then, I'm afraid she sounds just like a spoilt child wishing for something that is abominable, as if she was asking for peace in the world.
I've read her mother's statement of 2008 and I also read there that despite being a lawyer who's studied and researched, all she comes up with is personal beliefs, nothing substantiated... or that has any scientific or social value, such as a poll etc... She may be well meaning, but she's clearly not thought of how permitting gay couples to marry might actually start reversing all the negative downsides to being gay (the constant quest for a partner, the constant quest to fulfill that hunger that is natural to us, obviously not natural to her...) but with her kind of thinking our societies would still be trying to invent fire and still be eating raw meat and probably starving to death.

It did. I grew up hearing how homosexuality was "wrong" and "weird". I was terrified and appalled at myself for feeling this way.

Don't feel sorry for me. I'm the one who lived a lie and entered into a marriage under false pretenses. I need to deal with the consequences. If you want to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for my ex and my kids.

I want to home school because of how dangerous schools are becoming. Gangs, drugs, fighting. If I can't home school, I'd at least pay for private school. However, yes, there are many parents that home school simply because schools teach children things the parents don't want their kids knowing. They would rather keep their kids isolated rather then their children learn about the real world. Religious parents will often home school so their kids don't hear about evolution or interact with gay people (oh the horror). Racist parents may home school so they can indoctrinate their kids on why the Holocaust is a myth and garbage like that. I definitely see why many people are wary of home school, but this is clearly not the reason why I want to home school, though sadly, I may be a minority.

We welcome you in our midst, Cunobelin... Welcome

Love the name, by the way (what does it mean?)

Yes I am sorry for your ex and children, although, not so much for your children, who, I'm sure have a lovely dad and a lovely mum...
