Straight, Curious, Advice?!
#1
Okay, about to be a semi long story. So I've been with girls my entire life (all 18 years), and always been a real lady's man. Never had a problem acknowledging a good lookin dude. I don't care who I find attractive honestly. If it's a dude it's a dude, but had never thought anything of it. I love women too much. haha. But, over the summer I had an encounter with my bestfriend where we got drunk and he made out with me, he's super straight lady's man as well. This made me question things a little. We're still best friends, haven't talked about it, don't plan on it. We're friends and thats all. So now since the summer I've been just a little more curious. I'm a 100% believer in love at first sight, every serious relationship or crush I've had has started with the panic butterflies. Never ever happened with a dude before, until now. I just started college, and in one of my classes this guy walked in, and the minute I saw him I felt it. The best looking dude I've ever seen. I've heard that he's into dudes, but I cant tell and it really makes me nervous to try and become friends with him, because Im afraid all my other friends in that class will wonder what the hell I'm doing. As far as I'm concerned Im 100% straight. I love women and want to be with them. But sexually guys are just as hot as women now, but not romantically. And I've realized the only dudes I'm into are the 100% masculine guys who you would never ever guess where into dudes, or straight curious guys. I've been told that there's no such thing as a masculine gay guy. Honestly the ideal situation would be a straight guy who likes hooking up with dudes every now and then, but idk about that... Just looking for opinions on if there are some out there that are just dudes who like dudes. and advice on what I should do with this guy in my class. Thanks in advanced for the help!

PS. Nothing against the guys who aren't so masculine, to each their own, it's just not my thing.

I used this app click here

I asked if I was gay and it said 'Absolutely!' - clearly this app is spot on.....

Seriously. I can't tell you what you are. Even if in some strange parallel universe we met and had like the most mind blowing perfect sex in the world - I still would not be able to say what you are.

Now I know the word is homosexual, it is not homoSEXual... meaning there is really not any emphasis on the sex part.

Since you are denying having romantic inclinations (love, commitment, bonding blah anything but sex), I think that that means you ain't really that gay.

Quote:I've been told that there's no such thing as a masculine gay guy

Is that right? In all of my life, all 47 years of it, only three people guessed I was gay when I wasn't in the company of a partner. I go to gay bars and I have gay guys walking up to me asking 'You do realize this is a gay bar, right?'

Advice: Stop looking at gay porn... and start seriously contemplating yourself in the matters of what you see yourself doing with a guy outside of bedroom activities. I have a sneaky suspicion that you are in a semistate of denial here. Not fully willing to commit to the idea that you can have a romance with another guy.

Oh and there is another option that you may not be thinking about here: Bisexual.

Lastly stop getting drunk and making out with other dudes. That will only confuse the matter.

Clearly you have never experiences the bear scene, if you think they aren't masculine then you have a strange persception of masculine.
Hell try going to a leather bar and then say that guys can't look straight and be gay.

The only advice I can give you is, have an open mind, forget what you think you know and let yourself enjoy what ever situation you find yourself in.

Gotta chime in on the "no masculine gay guys" issue. That's crap, just like everyone else has said.

I work in a factory with a bunch of rednecks and nobody has ever even questioned my sexuality. My parents never guessed, my brothers never guessed, and my kids never had any inkling. I've also been to gay bars and been asked if I knew it was a gay bar. To which my standard reply has become something like, "Yeah, isn't it great?" My wardrobe consists of jeans, t-shirts, the occasional flannel.

As for your sexuality, feel free to call it what you will but I think there's a bit of denial going on too. If you're into guys at all then that doesn't imply 100% straight. But don't worry, that's not a bad thing.

That bears repeating. It's not a bad thing.

Ok, I know calling myself 100% straight was stupid. Shouldn't have said that. I really was just looking to see if there were other dudes out there who were just masculine and not flaming. Some guy on a stupid app Grindr said there was no such thing as a masculine gay guy and I should give up. So I just didn't know where to turn for advice. Didnt mean to come off as a stereotypical pig.

Nah, but I've seen plenty. Have mutual friends with some. It's just not my thing. I could handle 80/20 Im sure. Doesnt have to be 100%, because even straight dudes arent 100% masculine most times, so I shouldn't have said that. I guess the ones that Im attracted to are hard to spot, and the feminine ones stick out.

Some people have actually gathered statistics on this. It turns out that there's pretty much zero correlation between a guy's sexual orientation and how masculine he is. That guy on Grinder couldn't be more wrong.

What do you mean he might be too gay? I wouldn't have even known if one my friends hand't of made fun of him to me. Because he heard one of his friends teasing him about it. I would've never guessed. So I doubt he's too gay. Feel free to elaborate though, I assume this was condescending
