Listening to the news this morning quite a lot of time was taken up by this news and the overwhelming support that he has received from all sections of the public. That's all very well and laudable but, as one commentater said, what would have been the reaction had he come out while he was still playing? Would he have been accepted by his fellow players (who now say they support his decision) and how would they have reacted to him in the lockr rooms and showers?
As I said in my first post, it is a reflection on society that he has come out only after he retired. That said, it is a step in the right direction

Well that maybe be so but one snowflake can start the avalanche or at least I think that's how the saying goes...
Point is bit by bit people in professional football are coming out albeit behind the rest of society but there's hope for them yet.

I seen this in the paper today. It`s sad he didn`t come out while he was still playing but as some have said this it`s going in the right direction for players who are still playing to come out. Every little thing helps. Maybe we now see some players come out while playing in the near future.
