stages of life
#1
I'm really amazed at where my life is right now, and a little scared. I'm finished with school and looking for a job. I'm "growing up" and getting a REAL job that pays a decent amount of money. I'll be moving out soon and starting my life, and it's a big change.

I'm just curious as to what others experienced when you truly leave childhood behind and become the self reliant adult that you are now.

I moved out of home about 18 months ago and its been mad, ive not grown up one little bit tho! The only real diffrence now is money, Im very lucky in that I earn good money (for a grease monkey!) But I cant just spend like I did when I lived with mum and dad. Now I have to think rite gota cover mortgage bills ect... Which at the end of the day takes well over half of my wages Sad

Hmmm..I "left" home when I want to varsity and that was my first experience of being truly independent. At first I couldn't bear just how much I missed my parents. As soon as I graduated from varsity,I never looked back. And finance-wise,it wasnt much of a change since I was in charge on my finances in varsity.

After Uni I had a degree in "Film Criticism" so I got a job at a video rental as manager. Did the store well but they didnt take care of me. Roomed with four other uni friends so none of us really grew up.

Wasnt until I moved to Japan that I learned about responsibilities and taking care of myself. It is hard growing out of ones youth and taking responsibilities especially when you dont have kids and such.

Money is meant to be spent... sometimes saved for harder times but not to be stashed away. Enjoy your life with what it affords you and what you can afford... for the rest you can always keep it as a dream to fulfil.
