Ideas for Valentines Day that don't center around dinner?
#1
Here's the deal: I've been seeing this guy for a few months, and even though neither one of us is really into the whole Valentine's Day thing, we decided we would get together and do something anyway. Of course initially I thought about having a nice dinner and just spending the time together. The problem with this is that because of a weight-loss procedure, whenever we go out he *barely* eats anything. He'll take only two or three bites and thats it.

So my question is: Is there something fun/different/interesting we can do that does *NOT* have food as the focus? Or should I just say 'screw it' and plan a nice dinner anyway?
It doesn't have to be anything romantic, I just want to do something fun and maybe a little different.

We're both in our 20's and live very close to NYC.

Anything I should absolutely avoid doing?

Empire State Building visit?

Broadway show?

Zoo?

Madame Tuessauds?

Something where you take a camera and can record the day Smile

There are a hundred and one things to do that don't involve eating Smile

The zoo is pretty much my perfect date idea! And the Bronx Zoo is one of my absolute favorite places, but he is working until 5, so thats out. I thought about Madame Tussauds, I've been there a few times, but thought that might come across as cheesy?

I also thought about Jekyll & Hyde's (cheesy too, I guess), even though it's a restaurant there seems to be a lot of things to see... especially since he's a big horror movie buff. I've never been there.

Grrr.

The Empire State Building is good idea... I'll look into that. I'm not sure what the weather is supposed to be like.

I know this may sound really stupid, but If he were me (of course he is not) I would LOVE to be taken to like a park and bring some good hot chocolate or coffee and just be close to each other Big Grin. Since he doesn't eat much maybe pack a light picnic and look at the stars (assuming that's possible in a big city) Big Grin

Bowling.
The museums.
A day at the movies.
A boat ride (if you are near water).
Amusement park.
Casinos.
Plays/Opera.
Get a snack and then have nice long walk.
A day trip on the train.

What about a day trip to one of those little quaint towns, if there are any close enough for day trips Tongue I know you're in New York so it might not be as possible.

Go somewhere scenic, and camera-worthy.
