You know you're right when smart people disagree

At first I laughed and then I shuddered at Rick Santorum saying this...and the audience clapping at being called idiots.

I saw the speech btw, and I could comment on the hypocrisy of his saying the smart and elites want to control people and that's why they'll never be on his side while at the same time saying the church and family (read: antigay) must rule society, but projection is just too ordinary for a Christian fundie (and they're always calling their oppression "liberty") to be worth it. I'm only sharing because I found that comment (and the audience clapping) both funny and disturbing.
