Well, I'm not quite sure it's a poem but people who know this genre better than me say it is. I came up with this about 8 years ago after... the end of a certain period of time I would like to forget.

Upside down

Upside down turns your life,
some say, when you get a wife
Upside down turns your life,
others say, when you hit a five*
Upside down turns your life,
I say, when you fall in love

Love is happiness, some say
Love is god, others say
Love is a mist, I say

Upside down will never turn your life
if you never get a wife
Upside down will never turn your life
if you never hit a five*
Upside down will never turn your life
if you never go to parties
where are people not in the list
Because you never know
what can come out of the mist

* Not many people know this but "hit a five" means "to win the jackpot in a lottery". As far as I know its origin is British.
