American Vagabond (2013)
#1
This documentary film, filmed by a Finnish Lesbian director, is beautifully crafted, and testifies about the difficulties of growing up gay even in a country where it is neither illegal (partly) nor punishable by death (mostly) -- the United States still needs to get its act together on a federal level to make all its gay and lesbian populations free of such charges as buggery etc...
This is a country, like many others, where being gay may turn you into a homeless person.

I thoroughly recommend this film. But you may need to have a box of tissues nearby, as it is really still heartrending to see such ordinary lives, ditched and kicked to the gutter by prejudice, ignorance and fear. The judicial system also seems quite inadequate, sometimes to protect our kind.
