Evil Archbishop Strkes Another Blow
#1
The evil Peter Akinola, Archbishop of Nigeria, has struck again. This time he is getting behind the campaign to make the already dreadful anti-gay laws in the country even worse.

Pink News reports him as saying,
"Same sex marriage, apart from being ungodly, is unscriptural, unnatural, unprofitable, unhealthy, un-cultural, un-African and un-Nigerian. It is a perversion, a deviation and an aberration that is capable of engendering moral and social holocaust in this country.
"It is also capable of existincting [sic] mankind and as such should never be allowed to take root in Nigeria. Outlawing it is to ensure the continued existence of this nation. The need for doing this is urgent, compelling, and imperative."

Same sex couples getting married risk five years in prison while wedding guests will be liable to one year's incarceration! Unbelieveable

While he's on the subject of what might or might not be African, just how African is his beloved Christianity? He certainly does not seem to worship any god of love I've ever heard about in their propaganda.

The Archbishop of Canterbury seems very quiet while this wicked, unchristian man spreads his hateful messages. He seemed to have had more to say on Gene Robinson's appointment. Shameful

Hate it when Nigerians pull the "unAfrican" card, just irritates me.Just last week they said SA was not "black enough".Suggesting that there are varying degrees of Africaness is bananas and to write things off as unAfrican is even crazier.I,Daniel, with my Jewish roots and Desperate Housewives addiction,am as African as Peter Akinola.

I'm sure it would me, were I in your shoes, Dan. As an outsider, I was wondering how he could assume to speak on behalf of all Africans, when one is constantly reminded that Africans are not a single race. His own country is pretty strongly divided along tribal, religious and relative wealth lines. Maybe he has made fighting gays his cause because he doesn't know how to address some of the more pressing social problems in Nigeria. Don't the stories of Jesus refer to the saviour as a supporter of the dispossessed and an overturner of the tables of the money-changers? It doesn't make any sense to me.
