GLAAD: Networks steady; ABC Family 'Excellent'
#1
Quote:GLAAD has released its fifth annual Network Responsibility Index, an evaluation of the "quantity, quality and diversity of images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people on television." The study looked at the five broadcast nets and ten highly-rated cable networks, and assigned each a grade of Excellent, Good, Adequate, or Failing.

Before I get to the broadcast nets, first a hearty congratulations to ABC Family for becoming he second network in the history of the study to receive an Excellent rating (MTV scored the honor last year, but was not included in the study this year due to its cable ratings). Though Greek ended and Huge was cancelled, shows like Pretty Little Liars should help continue the channel's gay-friendly reputation.
I don't want to post the whole thing as it's long, but CW, FOX and ABC got good ratings and CBS and NBC adequate ratings for the main nets. On cable, TBS and A&E got failing grades, FX and USA were adequate, and AMC, TNT, SyFy, HBO and Showtime all got good ratings, in addition to the above mention of excellent for ABC Family.
