Just idly curious - does anybody have any piercings and/or tattoos and, if so, what are they ?
... and if not, have you considered any and, if so, what/where would they be ??
I don't have any, but I always thought it would be pretty cool to work out what the Chinese Character for "Love" is, and then stylistically alter it to remove 1/2 the brushstrokes, to make two individual characters which, when combined, would equate to the completed "Love" character. That way I could have one half of the brushstrokes on me (probs on my left shoulder on the outside), and my partner could have the other half on him (I guess on his right shoulder) ...
... in this way, we would be a complete love when together, and only half a love when apart ...
... I figured it would be romantic, but always at the back of my mind there's this little voice saying "Yes Shadow, GREAT idea but ... what if half the Chinese Character for "Love" is the Chinese Character for "Triads are my Bitches" or something REALLY clever like that ???"
I know somebody that thought they'd picked the Chinese Character for "Strength", but instead it was "This Way Up" !!! So I'm a TAD skeptical .
!?!?! Shadow !?!?!

I have an Ouroborus tattoo on my right upper arm, pretty much in the same spot as wouldlikemuscle's tiger is.
And yes, for anyone who may ask, it is from Fullmetal Alchemist. My friend and I both got it (his idea I might add).

It symbolizes a lot of things. My friend and I are 'ouroborus brothers' now

But the ouroborus is also a Greek myth, the serpent that eats its own tail. So it symbolizes my area of study.
The ouroborus itself is a symbol of immortality.
And it also symbolizes my geekiness, considering I got the design and idea from an anime

EDIT: 300th POST!!
XRIMO... I don't see anything geeky in it either... I think any tattoo should have meaning or be symbolic... and yours clearly does.
Shadow's half love tattoo would also be very meaningful if he was to get it... providing it doesn't cause a lot of laughter when you show it to a Chinese person!! lol
For me... I'd always opt for animals... they're what I'm interested in and have spent my life working towards working with them. The family crest also has its obvious meaning and I'm proud to have the surname I have.
Tattoo artists will be more than happy to spend time making sure the design is just right for you too... i'd say they'd take more care and effort over a meaningful one too than someone who just walks in and picks one 'off the shelf' so to speak.

I actually think that you guys have very cool tatts! I like that means something important to you not every does that. Tattoos are more like a decoration for some....
