Bowie to me has been a hero and a beacon through my preteens and early teens in the early 80's
I bought all of his albums, and spent a lot of time in a shop in Sydney City that specialised in rare and imported music. I have albums that you cannot find on the market these days, 'Love You Till Tuesday' is one that pops into mind. By the time the 80's were coming to and end, CDs were the preferred format so I replaced all the Vinyl and Cassettes with CDs.
I now have all albums in digital version that I could find to replace including 'TOY' So there are very few things I have missed BOWIE over the last 37 years.

I wasn't alluding to that fact in my reply, but I did in fact meet him in 1987 as part of his Glass Spider Tour when I was a teenager. I fell to pieces in a blubbering heap as he shook my hand and then helped me to my feet.
I went to meet him with all intention of taking photos with my newly acquired Minolta SLR only to walk away with no photo's
I went back to the beginning of the thread and saw that. Wow that's incredible, I know I would've had the same reaction. Three years ago I went to Las Vegas and met Penn Jilette, not that he's a big celebrity but someone I also admire very much. I wasn't able to say very much at all, but I didn't need to. The experience was enough for me.
