Thinking of buying a camcorder

Hey, I'm thinking of buying my first camcorder. I want one that is user-friendly and relatively easy to operate. Mostly I would use it outdoors, like if I went on a trip somewhere and wanted to make a home movie kind of thing. Just want something basic - don't need a ton of extra features, that I'd probably never use anyway.

So, any recommendations for me? I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks, Greg
