Third Time Never Fails...??
#1
So this is my third attempt to join GS, the first 2 times issues with my BF were the problem. The first time, he was upset because he didn't want me to have any sort of online presence due to a previous incident with a stalker. The second time, he took issue with a person I was PMing with. Both times, he deleted my account.
The last time, I had posted about some of our issues - and Bowyn made such a persuasive
case for couples therapy that my BF agreed. An oh, I was feeling soo righteous ---il the therapist told me to stop playing the victim and use appropriate measures to protect my laptop from intrusion. Ouch...
We continue to see her, she's saving us from mutual destruction. Me being here now is part of the negotiations.
And, as so many of you advised, we've postponed the August wedding...

Yeah... I kinda did neglect to tell you therapists will call you on your own BS too....

Oh what a shameless omitter am I....

But I am glad you two are going to a therapist and working on stuff. Seriously if you use the therapist for all s/he is worth the end result is a better home environment, better communication and a greater chance at having a working long term relationship.

If I recall, you two are the couple that I feel has great potential and are actually well matched up...

I'm glad to hear that you two have started counseling! Congratulations. I really hope that it helps. Smile

Thank you for providing an update, as well. So often we don't get to hear how things are working out.

I hope this is it and you stick around. Welcome back, Alex. You might be in a relationship and people might like to say some romantic things like "We are one," but you must always remain your own person with your identity. No matter how long you are in a relationship, always make some of your own decisions without consulting him first and always maintain a friendship that is more your friend than his, and keep a couple identity-sensitive accounts or profiles that are a password only you know. Never give up too much of yourself. He should have never had access to your profile to delete it. Keep going to therapy. it seems to be showing results already.
