I managed to make a half-articulate, half-asleep-half-awake sound, then I gently pulled his claw out, got up, and went to the bathroom. I stood staring at myself in the mirror (with my other eye), watching blood drip past my eye, wondering how one bandages up an eyelid. I did get it clean and bandaged eventually.
