I'm not so enamoured by e-books. Main reason being the e-book-reader's high price. If you're reading only at home that is great, but when you are traveling, going to the beach, park etc. that pricey doohickey needs to be watched and schlepped around or it might develop legs... So, I'm advocating a mix depending on your situation.
Of course I love the instant gratification of downloading books in a minute and immediately starting to read.
Just wanted to share my experiences.

Since my eyes got screwed up I am mostly reliant on e-Books. I don't so much mind them as clutter is a constant problem in our house. However, I did not get rid of the books I have, some of which I have had since childhood. I use my computer at home (and sometimes let my Mac read the text to me aloud) and my iPad on the road.
