Axle, when I was in high school and taking piano lessons, I told my piano teacher that I really did not like a certain piece. It is very short and simple and VERY famous. She said, "Thats OK. You just aren't old enough yet." A few years went by and I found myself in college and listening to an hour-long lecture on the piece which takes about a minute and a half to play. She was right. Nearly sixty years have gone by and I learn something new every time I hear that piece. She was right and then some.
Give it time and try not to overthink. There is great value in that. My buddy T. S. Eliot wrote
"Teach us to care and not to care.
Teach us to sit still."
Which is also good advice.
As for making someone happy, I know it is not what you are really talking about, but I'd be willing to bet that there is more than one guy on this board that you make happy just by being around. Be glad of it.
