Ok, then Crids will have to look for major 80s hurricanes.

Could be a few in that time that made landfall in Virginia (assuming this is where LJay was living at the time). Tropical Storm Bret (1981) this one was just below hurricane intensity at landfall. Tropical Storm Dean (1983), again, just below hurricane intensity. Tropical Storm Diana (1984) was formerly a hurricane but weakened to a tropical storm as it made landfall further south before moving through Virginia. And then the biggest one was Hurricane Gloria of 1985, that moved through Virginia as a category 2 hurricane, having peaked at category 4 over water.

Virginia actually got hit pretty hard by several systems in the early to mid 80's, before then getting a break for a few years. NTAC anyway haha . Hope your head is not too foggy this morning [MENTION=20933]LJay[/MENTION]
