I am really sorry to hear about that , criminals and guns spell disaster.
But Guns don't fire themselves, blame the criminal
You know , I have had guns for years , not once have I thought about shooting someone.
When Martin Bryant who was by the way , mentally ill decided to shoot up a bus full of tourists in Port Arthur in Tasmania , anyone that had a gun had to hand it in.
At the time we were living in Maitland , we had about four rifles and a hand piece.
I always made sure that they were stored in safe manner , dissembled , ammunition stored in another place , all the firing pins were kept in a metal box.
Only one rifle was loaded , i kept it in the wall near the door, just in case, no one knew it was there.
The law came in and we had to hand them in , mind you they never worried about the crossbow or my swords, go figure.
The police paid us the price we paid for them , if you had no receipt you were screwed.
They were also selling them to the bike gangs, they never got my firing pins , they are sleeping with the fishes.
And so the black market was open ,and all the criminals were now armed.
The crime rate went through the roof , night guards were no longer armed, drive by shootings became a norm in Sydney Newcastle and Wollongong.
The gangs were armed and fighting each other.
I am not talking about the bike gangs , I am talking about the street gangs.
