Date: I dislike people asking 'how are you' in as an empty gesture or as a greeting where they expect the empty 'fine' in responce.
I go to the doctors and the nurse asked 'how are you?' - does this mean we are getting to take the symptoms or is she greeting me? More often than not they are saying it in the form of a greeting...
In a similar vein, I tend to be overly blunt more often than not. As with above, I point out that the nurse should actually figure out some other way to greet people other than 'how are you?' since obviously the patient isn't doing too well or they wouldn't be there.
