Two books I recommend:
The Painting of Porcupine City
A Cranberry Hush
Both by Ben Monopoli. They're both gay life fiction. With a minor in the sex, Cranberry Hush has one while Painting has two, I think. They're both just about life and finding that place where you belong. Not even as a gay person, just as a person, who happens to be gay. They're immensely easy to fall into, I read Cranberry in one sitting and was itching to get back to Painting the entire time I wasn't reading it.
Kind of re-reading them now. I already spent this month's book budget.
