I don't think you should even mention feeling embarrassed about reading them at this age, you should be embarrassed about being embarrassed (god i hate this word). There's no age limit on books..Except maybe erotic literature. Anyways, I absolutely loved the first two and had huge expectations for the third one, but the ending was a major disappointment. Like...I couldn't even believe it.
What I love the most about the series in general is all the magic and magical stuff. Gish, I love books with their own mythology and tons of different magical creatures and ldjglkdjfl
