When I was living in Japan, a wise old man said something that resonated with me and has stayed with me to this day.
'Why you try so hard to make people like you, I don't know. It matters not what people think of you when you be yourself, it only matters what you think other people. You have people who don't like you for you in your life, you not be happy. You replace them with people YOU like, you be happy and confident. You be more better person too.'
