Sounds to me like you are experiencing the fourth stage of grief (the Kubler-Ross Model). It's a hard place to be but it will pass in time. I'd say your spouse really did experience a mid-life crisis. He was only 23 when the relationship started with you so maybe he started to feel that he missed out somehow by getting into a long term relationship at a pretty young age. I wouldn't be surprised if his current relationship withers after a while and he takes another look at his life and what he really had with you. You, in the meantime, need to start looking ahead and try to avoid constantly looking back. Hugs to you while you deal with this.
