I'm now 30,000 words into what I'm assuming is my first "book". I've never written a "book" before. I wonder if it'll be any good. Part of me doesn't care, because I'm enjoying the actual act of writing so much.

I think enjoying the writing is key. I actually have kept a journal since 2005, I don't write in it very often these days but I have managed almost 100,000 words. That's really not a whole lot considering the time-span. But for me it has been useful to think out my problems, also a bit of a place to put memories. I've come across things in the journal that really made me scratch my head, things I didn't remember doing or feeling.
