I don't think Debate is the suitable category for this thread but i couldn't find more suitable one ..
while awaiting guys here with deeper scientific knowledge i will start with just sharing row ideas and (Feelings ) towards this great project ...

the idea behind the collider - as i get it - is accelerating particles ( here protons ) to high speeds ( 99.999999% of that of light ) ... two beams of accelerated protons will collide , and the detectors are to detect the theoretically hypothesized but not yet experimentally confirmed Higg's Boson... an elementary particle
the experiments will probably ( and hopefully ) help us to better understand our universe ..
the project cost is 2.6 billions sterling pounds ... ironically this one of the greatest scientific projects ever costs less than an aircraft carrier !
when today morning i saw Google displaying this ( Tube ) i thought for a while : if those GuYs make an unexpected mistake it they may explode the part of the universe we are living in .. i was not serious and at least i didnt go to a court and asked for stopping the project .. like some people in hawai .
anyway .. Albert .. if you felt anything abnormal there just warn us
