I'm not a cat person.
But getting a dog was one of the best things we ever did! Having a fussy little beast to come home to, to be greeted with infinite glee and unconditional love, every day, has done wonders for my general mood. Cat's can't do this for me, but they can for some.
If you've never had a pet, then you probably don't understand the charm of it. But you will, in time.
I think you're being mean to your boyfriend, to be honest. If it's 100% a question of not having the money for it, fine, but somehow I don't really believe a cat will tip the scales. Does he realise what he's signing up for, though?
