I understand why gay people would panic if something were to happen to Trump and Pence took office. And I can see why gay people are concerned about the supreme court situation. But Trump wasn't coming down super hard on gay people throughout the election, and I dont think gay people are going to be the ones to feel it the worst in a Trump presidency.
What is concerning to me is the way race and immigration has been handled in Trump's campaign and his personal history. I dont think Trump is the end of the world, but I dont think he will surprise any of us moving forward regarding those issues. It is not shocking to me that this country has elected a slimey rich business man, a reality tv star, or a man who appears to behave and speak on impulse. But I did think this country was beyond electing a blatant racist.
And more so than what Trump could possibly do, I am unsettled by what white America has just done. Because its not some hyper emotional prediction of what will come, its a sad reveal of whats already been here.
