Actually, he could do better than that. If he pays off this car in 3 or 4 years (no more than 4) then put the car payments into a savings account after that, in 3 or 4 years, he pays cash for a new car.

That would be very true, however, I am hoping I will be looking at houses in that time frame. The car, in it's current loan, should be paid off at the end of 2022, of course my goal is to have that paid off sooner. The task right now is to reduce overall spending and I can definitely see fuel being a huge one...Haven't filled the car yet but it keeps saying I'm averaging 70+ MPG to work and everywhere else I got well into the 60's. Compared to 22-25 on the Challenger, not to mention the lower payment and hopefully insurance once the switch over goes through. Going to look at purchasing GAP through the auto insurance policy I have as I keep hearing that it is much cheaper and should anything happen I will hopefully be covered and not hung out to dry.

I do hope the Prius will last longer than the loan term, that's often the problem with cars in general, especially with the long loan terms.
