It is okay to not be thankful and grateful and whatever because, from what you jave written I can see that there is nothing to be thankful for besides that you are no longer being abused. BUt there is something else that you have to change - your attitude towards guys. None of them is gonna be HIM,. But somewhere out there there is this one guy that is better than him. Then there is another guy that resembles HIM but is again better. Find those people, open your heart and mind for the possibility of finding someone who is different than HIM, yet better.
If you feel that you cannot do that, maybe you should seek the one or two t hings in life that completely grab your attention and fill your heart with happiness or at least satisfaction. They will help your character heal, although not completely.
