How about some 80s rock from a NJ artist who had minor hits, but never broke out big?
Fiona Flanagan (from NJ-recording as Fiona) made some heads turn with her debut CD, Fiona in 1985. The single "Talk To Me" got play on rock radio, and her video got spins on early MTV.
She followed this up with her second CD, Beyond The Pale in 1986. The lead single "Hopelessly Love You" got some airplay, as did the video, but failed to break her onto the pop charts.
Hoping the third time would be the charm, Fiona released Heart Like A Gun in 1989, the lead single a duet with heavy metal lead man Kip Winger. The song, "Everything You Do (Your Sexing Me)" got late night metal show rotations, but again failed to generate more than an initial buzz.
Fiona still records music, most recently releasing a CD in 2011.
