This wonderful slice of perfection has just come up on Spotify and I was taken straight back to when I first bought the album, "Unhalfbricking", in 1969. This is one of my favourite songs of all time. Over the years I must have listened to this song hundreds of times, often just playing it back-to-back. I've had to listen to it twice before I could make myself post this message. Sadly it's not just the lyrics that are tragic, but the album was released in tragic circumstances. Two months before its release the band's Transit van rolled on the M1 as they approached London after a gig in Birmingham killing drummer, Martin Lamble and guitarist, Richard Thompson's girlfriend, Jeannie Franklin.
Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, Dave Swarbrick, Martin Lamble, Simon Nicol and Ashley Hutchings. This You Tube joins the song about 3 minutes in. I hope someone enjoys it. I'm in a state of bliss
